Terms & Conditions

The terms covering quotations, works, payment and certification for electrical work carried out by Trace Electrical Ltd.

About these terms

These terms apply to electrical work carried out by Trace Electrical Ltd, registered in England & Wales under company number 12103279, and to the use of this website. They are supplemented by the specific details set out in any written quotation we issue.

Quotations and estimates

Site visits are free and carry no obligation. Following a visit, small jobs are normally quoted within one working day and larger projects within approximately one week.

Quotations are based on the scope of work discussed and the conditions visible at the time of the visit. Where hidden conditions are found once work begins, for example concealed wiring, inaccessible routes or existing defects, we will explain the position and agree any variation with you before proceeding.

Minimum charge and pricing

Our minimum charge is £150 + VAT. Prices quoted are exclusive of VAT unless stated otherwise on the quotation.

Any additional works requested during the job, or arising from conditions outside the quoted scope, will be priced separately and confirmed with you before they are carried out.

Booking and access

Site work is carried out Monday to Friday 7am–6pm and Saturday 8am–5pm. Phone lines are answered 24 hours a day.

You are responsible for providing safe and reasonable access to the property and to the areas where the work is to be carried out, along with access to the electrical supply and, where required, parking for our vehicles.

Standards, certification and accreditation

All work is carried out in accordance with BS 7671 (18th Edition) wiring regulations. We are a NICEIC Approved Contractor, an OZEV approved installer for electric vehicle chargepoints, and a Rolec accredited installer.

Certification appropriate to the work carried out is issued on completion, and notifiable work is registered through our certification body. Certificates are issued once payment for the relevant works has been received in full.

Payment

Unless otherwise agreed in writing, payment for domestic work is due on completion. Commercial account customers may be offered 30-day payment terms as set out in their quotation or contract.

On larger projects, a schedule of stage payments may be agreed in writing before works commence.

Insurance and liability

We hold £5m Public Liability insurance covering our work on domestic and commercial sites.

We are responsible for the work we carry out and for damage caused by our negligence. We are not responsible for pre-existing defects in the installation or the property that fall outside the scope of the works, nor for the making good of decorative finishes beyond what is expressly agreed in the quotation.

Cancellation

Please give us as much notice as possible if you need to cancel or rearrange a booked appointment so the slot can be reallocated. Where materials have already been ordered specifically for your job, the cost of those materials may be chargeable.

Where you are a consumer and the contract was concluded away from our premises, your statutory cancellation rights apply and will be set out with your quotation.

Complaints

If anything about the work is not right, contact us on 020 4620 2290 or at traceelectricalltd@gmail.com and we will come back and look at it. As a NICEIC Approved Contractor we also operate within our certification body's complaints framework.

Website content

Content on this website is provided for general information about our services and does not constitute technical advice for a specific installation. Advice for your property is given following a site visit and inspection.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and any dispute is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
